Elite Dangerous: Odyssey - Coming Spring, Testing Deadline

The Frontier Developments team revealed plans for Elite: Dangerous - Odyssey. We found out when the tests will start and we got to know the release dates on PC and consoles.

Frontier Developments has revealed when we can expect the premiere of Elite: Dangerous - Odyssey, an ambitious paid addition to the popular space simulator. We also learned a little about the planned tests. In early spring, the alpha version will be available to PC players who purchase Elite Dangerous: Odyssey in the Deluxe Alpha edition or have the Lifetime Expansion Pass. The tests are to be phased, and each of them will introduce new elements so that developers can check them carefully.

The premiere of the full version will take place in late spring 2021, but only on PC. Console releases are planned, but we will wait for them until fall. Then Elite: Dangerous - Odyssey will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The delay in the console versions is due to the desire to provide them with an appropriate level of refinement. The authors expect that after the full release on PC in spring, it will be necessary to make many changes based on the suggestions of the gaming community. Only after their implementation, the add-on will be ready for the premiere on PS4 and Xbox One. The expectations towards the project are huge, so the creators want to offer a production that will meet the hopes of fans. The Odyssey expansion will allow leave space ships and explore planets on foot, as well as engage in skirmishes on their surfaces. Many people are counting on the DLC to deliver what Star Citizen has been promising for almost a decade.
